Wegener, it has been discovered recently (1960s) that you were right, and that all the continents all formed together at one point. The reason for the movement is something called Sea Floor Spreading. Basically, lava is being pushed up from the outer core, and into the ocean, where it cools down and forms new rock. This pushes away the old rock, and the old rock takes the continents with them. Just thought I would let you know, theoretically of course seeing how you died in Greenland...
